Baseball Blogging: No 1-Run Loss This Time

The Catfish closed out their series with the Augusta GreenJackets (Giants), dropping the finale, 9-2.

Despite the loss, the two players the wife and I are sponsoring had some bright spots. Dan Batz upped his team-leading batting average to .311, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Lucas May increased his batting average to .282 with a double and an RBI.

Others on the Catfish played well, with the team collecting 9 hits. However, the Catfish only managed the two runs, stranding 7 runners, 4 in scoring position. That, along with a couple of errors in Augusta's 7-run 7th inning spelled the difference.

Tuesday, the Catfish travel to Charleston, SC for a four-game series with the RiverDogs (Yankees).
