Catfish: New Winning Streak Starts

Go Catfish! The Catfish bounced back from last night's loss to the Asheville Tourists (Rockies) and took tonight's contest, 4-1.

Catfish pitcher Phil Sobkow had one of his best outings, pitching 5 strong innings and was the winning pitcher. Phil has had some hard luck games out of the bullpen this year, and his ERA had been over 10. However, he's been on the DL a couple of times this year and had pitched hurt. From the look of things tonight, he's all better now. Outfielder Ryan Russ continued his hot bat, falling a double shy of the cycle tonight.

Of the two players the wife and I "sponsor" only Lucas May played tonight. Though charged with a couple of errors, he did play a good game tonight. Our other player, Dan Batz, sat out tonight. Earlier in the day, he was one of the Catfish players conducting a baseball mini-camp for local children.

Sunday, game three of this four game series. The wife and I will be late, since our niece has her piano recital. But we'll get there nonetheless, to watch the new winning streak continue.
