    This is America, not some Banana Republic or the old Soviet Union. No law-abiding citizen should be kicked out of their home just because a new development would pay more in property taxes.

  2. This is nothing new. The court just upheld what has always been legal. Projects, public or private have always been able to get the land or property they need if the "tax" revenue generated was substantial for the local, stae, or fedaral government. While it is not a rampart practice here, it does happen. A family member lost a portion of their land after it was condemed and a 7-11 was built on the property because it generated substantial "tax" revenue to the local county. I don't think I would like to have this happen, but the revenue has to be raised in some manner when there is excessive growth, especially. Schools, roads, etc., cannot come entirely from taxing local residential homes.
