Such Nice People

LasVegasVacation Blogging

Bloggers is the nicest folk. Well, okay. I can't speak for all bloggers. But I can speak about some that I've met.

Now, I guess I should say that I've only met four other bloggers. And two live in the same area where I live. And I met those two before I started blogging and before I knew they had blogs. But I still count them: Cory of CORE|BLOG and The Sportslady of Postcards from the Peach State. But those were the only two bloggers I had actually met, and they are some really nice folk.

But now I've met some more.

Through a series of strange events and coincidences, three bloggers ended up in Las Vegas, Nevada for three different reasons.

Sadie from Fistful of Fortnights is on a pleasure trip.

phin of phin's blog is on a business trip that was scheduled for earlier, but got moved back to this week.

And your humble host is here because someone else decided not to go, and I was a replacement. So, I'm in Las Vegas for pleasure, unlike phin and independent of Sadie. You see, I'm attending the Star Trek convention.

But, since we found out the three of us were going to be here, we decided to get together and have supper.

I can't say enough nice things about Sadie. She's a doll. She's just as cute as can be and the sweetest person you could meet. I'm thrilled she took a break from her personal trip here and that I got to meet her.

And there's no way I could tell you just how much of a fine, Southern gentleman phin is. He's got a great sense of humor and is extremely personable. It was a pleasure ... no, an honor ... to meet him and get to spend time with him.

Yes, while we ate Mexican food, we talked about stuff totally unrelated to blogging and got to know each other a little bit. But of course the conversation turned to blogging and blogs. We found that we shared many, many common likes and opinions about some things, and I don't mean politics. And, I had the best time just listening to them talk, so much that I could have sat there quietly for hours. But, of course, I didn't sit quietly for more than 10 seconds at a time. I just had to run my mouth.

But gracious folk that they are, they made an old fart feel at home.

I've read others who have written about meeting bloggers and many that were just pleased as punch to have met people they've read and admired. Now, I can add myself to that kind of list.

Sadie's just a wonderful person. If you ever meet her, you'll be blessed.

And phin is one of the nicest, gentlest people I've ever met. If you ever have the pleasure, you'll be similarly impressed.

Closed circuit to Sadie and phin: Thank you for being who you are on your blogs, and for being so, so much more in person. You two are the highlight of the trip.
