Catfish Beat Savannah, Move Into Third Place

Go Catfish! The Columbus Catfish opened a seven-game home stand with a 7-2 win tonight over the Savannah Sand Gnats. The 10-hit attack was led by CF Adam Godwin, who was 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored. Andrew Locke and David Southerland each had a pair of hits and a run scored to contribute to the offense.

David Pfieffer, making his 15th appearance but only his second start, picked up the win, going six innings and scattering four hits. Francisco Felix pitched 2-1/3 innings of relief before David Horlacher came in with the bases loaded and two out in the ninth to pick up the save.

With the win, coupled with Greenville's loss to Charleston, brings the Catfish into a tie for third place, a 1-1/2 games behind second place Augusta.
