West Virginia powers past Catfish

It didn't get ugly 'til late, but ugly it got. The West Virginia Power (Brewers) took an early 2-0 lead, increased it to 4-1, but a 5-run 8th sealed the deal, as West Virginia beat the Catfish 9-1, led by Brent Brewer's 2 homers.

Catfish SS Jairo De La Rosa went 2-for-3, with 2 doubles, and an RBI. Starter Will Kline allowed 2 unearned runs on 2 hits in 2 innings work to take the loss, striking out 5. Hunter Davis made his first appearance for the Catfish, allowing 4 earned runs in 1-1/3 innings, striking out two.

The Catfish conclude their series with West Virginia Thursday night.
