Obama heard the comments before he didn't hear them...

A lot of politicians get blasted for flip-flopping on issues.

Former President George Bush (R) can testify to that. Remember the flak he caught for saying "no new taxes," before he gave in to the Democrats in Congress and let a tax increase through?

Senator John F. Kerry (D-MA) can testify to that, too. Remember how much trouble he had overcoming the charges of flip-flopping on the issues? He does, that's for sure.

But there's a difference between these two men and Senator Barack H. Obama (D-IL).

Obama made a speech today about race relations, spurred by controversial comments his pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, made from the pulpit over the years. The pulpit in the church where Obama is a member.

In his speech today, Obama said he had heard the comments that Rev. Wright made:

Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes. Did I strongly disagree with many of his political views? Absolutely ... just as I'm sure many of you have heard remarks from your pastors, priests, or rabbis with which you strongly disagreed.

But, just the other day, Obama wrote on Huffington Post that he hadn't heard the comments:

The statements that Rev. Wright made that are the cause of this controversy were not statements I personally heard him preach while I sat in the pews of Trinity or heard him utter in private conversation. When these statements first came to my attention, it was at the beginning of my presidential campaign.

Do you see the difference?

Bush and Kerry changed their positions. They flip-flopped.

Obama didn't flip-flop. He has been caught in an outright lie.

  1. The problem is, do any of the people who are supporting him, care? I doubt it, since they want to see him win! :(

  2. I totally agree with Basil, it's good to see people are finally waking up to the fact that too many cat's are coming out of his bag. The first cat, his hating America wife, cat 2, now his minister, so just how many more cats will be coming out of his bag. What he did is not American at all, lying to the people and treating us like fools who believe in him. Dont let him keep pulling the wool over our eyes, wake-up and smell the non-all-american.

  3. Two things I noticed about his speech: first, he didn't say shit about HOW he proposed to address the race problems in our country. All he wants Whitey to do is throw more money at them. Typical.
And the second, you ask? Absolutely no mention at all of "God Bless America" or "God Bless You." I guess that means Obama, like his racist preacher, wants God to damn America.

  4. [...] It is true of Barak Hussein Obama, whose genuiness and squarish charm was his main appeal to me, despite his being rather an empty suit and tabula rasa. [...]

  7. Speaking about Obama...Would your "church," if you fellowship with one, put on it's bulletin board hateful articles from the anti-semitic, terrorist group Hamas? Barack Obama's CURRENT church, Trinity United Church of Christ, did just that.

We just found out in the last 48 hours that Wright, while giving a eulogy in 2007, said that "(Jesus') enemies had their opinion about Him... The Italians for the most part looked down their garlic noses at the Galileans."

Now comes a report by NBC News that while Wright was in charge at Obama's CURRENT church, reprinted anti-Israel writings, including one column by none other than Hamas leader, Mousa Abu Marzook, appeared on the bulletin board there.

The column by the Hamas leader, Mousa Abu Marzook, asked: "Why should any Palestinian recognise the monstrous crimes carried out by Israel's founders and continued by its deformed modern apartheid state?"

The question becomes one of judgment, character, integrity, honesty and intelligence.

If I were to believe Obama's defense that he didn't, and still doesn't, know what was, and still is, going on at his church for 20 years, then, in my opinion, he must not be very observant nor intelligent, and does not possess sensible judgement. Therefore he cannot be qualified to be the POTUS, in my opinion. If I do NOT believe Obama, then his integrity, character and honesty is woefully insufficient to be the POTUS, in my opinion.

Obama went to Harvard Law School (they don't let just anybody in), where he became the first African-American president of the prestigious Harvard Law Review. He graduated magna cum laude in 1991. Now do you think he is NOT aware of what his church and ex-pastor are all about? Be AFRAID! Be VERY AFRAID!

Barack Obama's political FRAUD against the American People continues...

  8. "What he did is not American at all, lying to the people and treating us like fools who believe in him :

American people has been fooled for many years for bigger reasons (Bush lied about the Irak war ).
Why are people just picking out the snippets of the Wright sermons ????? . Because they still wanted to be fooled ( Now by the main stream media)or because they don't want a black guy in the white house.
To keep this guy out off the white house even Hillary behave as stupid as the Bush/McCain boys.
Is it very American the way Hillary handles her defeat ???
No, is what (they) called the Judas aka Harding option the way she and Bill behave.

Is it very American not to get the right information as a civilian even if your President or Media lies about the facts.
    I guess it isfor Americans.

Not in the Netherlands were i live . There we would have kicked Mr Bush long time before he went to war with Irak , we would have seen that Hillary is the same style politician as what you had the last 16 years.

And indeed a great part of the white Americans still discriminate minorities. That is the only conclusion i can make after seeing the polls that Hillary fan(s) will vote McCain i.s.o Obama may Hillary loose.
The system is so bad that the poorer white people have been seen by the goverment as the white negro , who don't need any rights . That's why Obama is so strong .
The Majority off the voting people are White negro's, negro's and hispanic .
The rich people(and the stupid poor followers )are the minority.

Power to the people is power to OBAMA.

    Regards , Carmen

  9. The mere fact that you are spouting the whole "Bush lied" thing means that either you are (willfully or otherwise) ignorant of the truth or you just do what you think is the cool thing to do. Sort of like supporting a no-experience hack like Obama.

    But thanks for stopping by.

  10. Basil, obviously, even though Carmen is from the Netherlands, she is a Robert Byrd supporter, hence the "White Negro's" comment. At least our country hasn't completely cornered the market on morons. Seems the Netherlands has at least one.

And does she mean that all of the leaders are rich and all of the followers are poor? I can never understand Moronese.

PS: I love the Captcha words, this one is "$25 Creole." When did Creoles start costing twenty-five bucks?!?!? The last Creole that I purchased was only eight bucks. Damn the Big Creole lobby. I guess that I am going to have to go back to buying my slaves from somewheres else other than lower Louisiana.
