Catfish drop 9th straight

The Columbus Catfish losing streak is now at 9.

The Greenville Drive (Red Sox) handed the Catfish their 9th consecutive defeat 6-2, Saturday night.

Columbus scored the game's first run in the first inning. After Shawn O'Malley reached on a fielding error by pitcher Christopher Province, Reid Fronk doubled, scoring O'Malley.

But the Drive scored four runs in the fourth inning off starter Woods Fines (0-2). They added two more in the fifth off reliever Jason Ragan.

Columbus scored its other run in the bottom of the fifth. Henry Wrigley led off with a triple. He scored on Shawn Williams' ground out.


The Catfish look to end the losing streak, and avoid their second straight sweep, Sunday afternoon.
