West Virginia blasts Catfish again

The West Virginia Power (Brewers) are just one win away from sweeping the Columbus Catfish.

Friday night in Charleston, WV, West Virginia ... for the third straight game ... use a big inning to run away from the Catfish. Friday night's score was 9-4, and leaves West Virginia poised for a sweep.

Columbus got a pair of RBIs from Gregory Sexton and another one from Maiko Loyola to trail just 5-4 after five innings Friday.

But reliver Justin Garcia gave up four runs in the seventh as the Power pulled away.
Loyola (CF) and 2B Omar Luna each had a pair of hits for the Catfish. Jesse Darcy (4-2) suffered his 2nd loss in his last two decisions.

The last time the two teams met in a series, it was the 2007 South Atlantic League championship. The Catfish swept that in three games. The Catfish must win Saturday night in order to avoid a sweep in this series.
