Counting the Cain crowd

So, how many people attended the Herman Cain announcement and rally in Atlanta yesterday?

Cain said 15,000. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said 10,000.

Who to believe?

Well, the same article talked about his "20-minute speech."

I recorded it. I started the recording as he was walking onto the stage, and stopped it when he left the stage. The video is 33:05:

The ratio of 33:05 to 20:00 is roughly the same as the ratio of 15,000 to 10,000.

I'm thinking there were closer to 15,000 than 10,000 ... based on what I'm seeing, and what I know about how most media outlets over conservatives.

  1. I'm hoping the video(s) will be posted soon.

By the way, you do realize that by supporting a black man, you're trying to prove that you're not racist, which actually makes you a racist.

Or as Bill Maher put it:

"Republicans say they love [Herman Cain] so they're not racist - right"

  2. Oh, I knew there was some reason I was supporting Cain. And all this time I thought it was because he was the most conservative of those running. Silly me.

  3. Basil, at this point I'd be willing to support Cain. I mean, I wouldn't throw food all over myself in panting excitement just to touch him, or anything...but I'd support him.

He's one of the few citizen candidates I've seen that might build enough steam to pull it off. Perot had billions, but made the mistake of 3rd partying it. If Herman can pull an upset or two...really work Iowa (Huck did), and get some steam, who knows?

The only problem is that we will definitely be pegged as racists if we use the term "dark horse." So, you and your big blog brethren are gonna have to come up with something else.

Good for Herman. I've known of him for a long, long time. I got acquainted with him when he would guest host for Boortz several years ago. We don't get Boortz any more here, so it's been a long time since I've heard Cain.

    I'm in.
