The Columbus Catfish dropped game three of the four-game series with the Greenville Drive (Red Sox), 8-5 tonight.
Despite jumping out to an early lead, the Catfish were unable to stop Greenville from battling back and taking the lead. The Catfish then battled back from an 8-2 deficit to close it to a three-run game, but couldn't complete the deal, when Jesus Soto was called out on what most fans thought was a checked swing with two on and two out.
With the loss, the Catfish fall to two games behind the division leading Rome Braves, who won their game tonight. The Asheville Tourists (Rockies) also lost, keeping the Catfish and the Tourists tied for second place.
Tomorrow, the final game of the series with Greenville also closes the home stand. The Catfish then head to Asheville and Rome for a pair of series that could make or break this young season. Breaking even would leave Columbus in good shape; dropping the series would put them in an early hole.
Can't win 'em all!
