Obama Smart

Sometimes, the things people do are so obviously nuts, even my cat recognizes it.

[Direct link]

Transcript:
I just don't understand some people. Last week, actor George Clooney took the time during a news conference about his new movie to say some nice things about Barack Obama.

George Clooney: There's a guy in office right now who is smarter than almost anybody you know, who has more compassion than almost anybody you know, and he's having an almost impossible time governing.

That's not the first time we've heard someone from the entertainment industry say nice things about Obama. Like how smart he is.

Joy Behar: But I think you have a point. He's a little too smart for the country in a certain way...

You know what all that reminds me of?

CPL Allen Melvin: Raymond Shaw is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life.

In the movie "The Manchurian Candidate," those that were singing the praises of Raymond Shaw were brainwashed by communists.

That's not the case with Hollywood. Those singing the praises of Barack Obama? They're brainwashing themselves.

I just don't understand some people.
I think my cat has a point.

In the war of words between the socialist president who's the darling of the Hollywood elite and the socialist president who's the darling of the Hollywood elite, put your money on the socialist president who's the darling of the Hollywood elite

Venezuela's socialist president has some harsh words for America's socialist president.

Reuters reports that Hugo Chávez called Barack Obama an "ignoramus:"

"He goes and accuses me of exporting terrorism: the least I can say is that he's a poor ignoramus; he should read and study a little to understand reality," said Chavez, who heads a group of left-wing Latin American leaders opposed to the U.S. influence in the region.

It ought to be interesting to see how this one plays out.

Chávez is the darling of Hollywood. Obama is the darling of Hollywood.

In this little battle of words between the two leading socialist presidents on the American continents, who will get the support of Hollywood?

The answer is easy: it doesn't matter. Because Hollywood doesn't matter.

The dust-up between those two peas in a pod won't last long. They'll take their sights off each other soon enough.

Chávez has terrorism to export.

And Obama has basketball brackets to pick.

Torture

I've been watching all the "best" movies.

I took the AFI's "100 Years, 100 Movies" list from 1998, their updated version from 2007, AFI's "10 Top 10" (their picks for the top 10 movies in 10 categories: Animation, Romantic comedy, Westerns, Sports, Mystery, Fantasy, Science fiction, Gangster, Courtroom dramas, Epics), and the Academy Awards® "Best Picture" winners, and put them all in one big list.

Some films are in more than one list, so the combine listing has 222 films.

I've now seen 150 of them. I have 72 more to go.

I'm telling you, it's hard -- really hard -- to watch some of the crap that has come out of Hollywood over the years.

But, it gives me an idea...

Let's make all the detainees at Guantánamo Bay watch the movies on that list. All of them. Some of them twice.

What would the Hollywood elite say then?

Would they admit their films are torture?

Or would they finally shut up and let us use the tactics necessary to get the information from the terrorists?

If we'd have known that's what it took, we'd have elected John McCain years ago

Susan Sarandon wants Barack Obama to be President.

That doesn't surprise me. She's nuts. And that's pretty much the only qualification required for supporting Barack Obama.

But I missed a report last week from The Telegraph. According to the report, Sarandon is looking at a move if Sen. John McCain wins the presidency:
"If McCain gets in, it's going to be very, very dangerous," she says.

"It's a critical time, but I have faith in the American people. If they prove me wrong, I'll be checking out a move to Italy. Maybe Canada, I don't know.

Well, heck.

That's one of the best reasons I've seen to vote for John McCain.

Forget that he's qualified -- as opposed to Sens. Hillary Clinton (D-IL-AR-DC-NY) and Barack Obama (D-IL), who have accomplished as much in their Senate terms as I have. McCain is clearly the best candidate to be President.

Unloading Susan Sarandon on Italy or Canada? That's just a bonus.
