I have a friend named Max. Actually, he usually goes by another name. But he also goes by Max. Like some eccentric artist or something.
Max is an artist. Not exactly wildly eccentric. But a little. Just a little.
Anyway,
Max draws, paints, and sculpts. He has some topics that are favorites of his. And one is the World Trade Center.
The events of September 11th, 2001 has an impact on him ... like they impacted us all. And, we all reacted in different ways. Max has expressed the impact in his art. He's done many drawings and paintings ... and sculptures ... of and about the World Trade Center.
Just so you know, the WTC isn't his favorite topic of his art. And, in the future, I plan to share some of his other works.
But, because today is September 11th, I'm going to feature one of his WTC paintings.
To me, it says that we need to remember what we lost ... and who we lost ... on that day. In an instant, nearly 3,000 were doomed. We lost Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Independents, Christians, Jews, Muslims, athiests, Blacks, Whites, Orientals, Hispanics, Men, Women, Gays, Straights ... we lost nearly 3,000 of us.
The people that took down those towers had planned for 8 years to do that. And on September 11, 2001, they succeeded. They attacked us.
Let us never forget.
