It seems like everyone is impacted by Obamacare. Frank and Sarah lost the plan they had. My 2nd ex- lost her coverage. My rates have increased.

You hear these horror stories all the time.

But, something has to balance out, right? If one thing goes up, something else comes down. Which means that someone must be benefitting from Obamacare.

CNN found out who. Sex workers.

Seems that Hollywood types are the only thing whoring themselves out for Obamacare.

Even so, the plans would still be more expensive. But, for some reason, they qualify for subsidies, meaning it does cost them less.

Who pays for the subsidy? Taxpayers.

So, next time you see a sex worker, go ahead and ask for your piece of the pie. So to speak.

The Colonel and the Obama Voter visit the dentist

The Colonel went to the dentist yesterday morning. He occasionally -- not always, just sometimes -- thinks of himself as "The Colonel," because it does sound kinda old-school cool. He's not a full-bird colonel. He has the leaf, which means he's actually a lieutenant colonel. Still, in the military, LTC (or, since he's Air Force Reserve, Lt. Col.) is addressed as "colonel." So, yeah, he's The Colonel.

Anyway, The Colonel went to the dentist yesterday morning. In the parking lot was a vehicle belonging to an Obama Voter, who was visiting the same dentist.

Cut now to the checking out part of the visit, after all the tooth and mouth stuff is done.

Obama Voter was ahead of The Colonel. And it seems Obama Voter wasn't happy with the amount he had to pay.

It had to do with how the work was classified by Obama Voter's insurance. Seems there had been a change to how certain dental work was classified. And that made a difference with the bill. Some dental work is considered emergency or required. Then there's situations where they'll pay for one type of something but not another type of the same something.

Bunch of insurance talk, basically. But, the bottom line was, because of changes Obama Voter's insurance made to how stuff was classified and how much they paid for different stuff, the bill was quite a bit larger than than Obama Voter expected.

And Obama Voter wanted to know why.

When the lady behind the desk explained that the insurance provider in question had changed a bunch of stuff around because of ... wait for it ... Obamacare.

Yep, the new regulations had the effect of changing how those being regulated acted. And, what with the insurance provider wanting to stay in business and all, that meant a change in benefits.

Obama Voter's mouth kinda dropped when he heard why the change was made.

The Colonel kinda shook his head and smiled a little smile.

I saw The Colonel at lunch, and he told me the story of his visit to the dentist.

I took no pleasure in the fact that the Obama Voter had experienced the effect of the very policies put in place by those he helped put in office.

Okay, I lied. I took great pleasure in it. And I want to see more of it.

AARP, Obamacare, and karma

Remember when Obamacare was being considered by the Congress? And AARP was supporting it? And all the supporters said how much it would make everything better and how it would get prices under control and it would be just so awesome?

Well, now AARP has sent information to its employees saying that their insurance was going up ... because of Obamacare:

In an e-mail to employees, AARP says health care premiums will increase by 8 percent to 13 percent next year because of rapidly rising medical costs.

And AARP adds that it's changing copayments and deductibles to avoid a 40 percent tax on high-cost health plans that takes effect in 2018 under the law. ... Shifting costs to employees lowers the value of a health care plan and acts like an escape hatch from the tax.

To be honest, I don't mind those that supported Obamacare getting bit in the ass by Obamacare -- they are such big asses, after all.

I like laughing at stupid people. It's fun.

Oh, and AARP? Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!

Congressman: Use the elections to "slap reality" into the Obama administration

Today, I asked Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL, 3rd district) if the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution (Article 1, Section 8, Clause 3) gives Congress the authority to impose an individual insurance mandate. (Question suggested by Harvey of IMAO, Bad Example, and The Fred Thompson Show)

Rep. Rogers' response: "Of course not."

Of course not. And I think that's one of the things that's going to be cleared up by these state court cases that are being brought.

The problem is, I think, it's going to take a while to filter up because, while the district court case may happen in less than a year, whoever loses is going to appeal to the circuit court level. Whoever loses that will end up petitioning the court for certiorari at the Supreme Court. So you may see several years before that issue is resolved by the Supreme Court.

I don't think people want to wait several years. That's why I think the elections are the best way to slap reality into the administration. And then, still wait for those court cases to be resolved, because it is a question we need answered, because this overreach is not going to be the last overreach, particularly if this is unanswered.

Rep. Rogers was holding a "Congress On Your Corner" meeting in Phenix City, Alabama. Over 40 people, plus media, attended the event. Rogers spoke for about 15 minutes, then took questions for nearly an hour on topics such as the health care bill, taxes, jobs, and immigration.

The good doctor isn't refusing to treat anyone:

"I'm not turning anybody away — that would be unethical," Dr. Jack Cassell, 56, a Mount Dora urologist and a registered Republican opposed to the health plan, told the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday. "But if they read the sign and turn the other way, so be it."

Maybe those Obama voters can get one of those people in white coats who stand behind the president during photo ops to treat them.

Cuban health care, coming soon to a doctor near you

Liberals should be proud.

Thanks to them, you won't have to go to Cuba to get Cuban health insurance. You'll be able to get that in the USA.

Fidel Castro praised the recent passage of Obamacare:

Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro on Thursday declared passage of American health care reform "a miracle" and a major victory for Obama's presidency, but couldn't help chide the United States for taking so long to enact what communist Cuba achieved decades ago.

"We consider health reform to have been an important battle and a success of his (Obama's) government," Castro wrote in an essay published in state media

If you voted for Obama, this is what you voted for.

Don't tell me "Oh, no, Cuban health care isn't what I had in mind." Because I told you so. Dumbass.

And the worst of it? Some people will be saying that being like Cuba is a good thing. Dumbasses.

In the 2008 election, 67% of the Hispanic vote went to Obama.

Don Surber suggests that the biggest impact of Obamacare will be to students. And, in a bad way...

States pay 25% to 50% of Medicaid with the federal government borrowing the rest.

That will bust state budgets.

Education will be cut.

So, what to do? Some states are suing.

John Hawkins suggests that Obamacare can be crippled by the GOP by cutting the funding.

Not only is the war not over, neither is the battle.

You see, Obamacare is simple one battle. The war is our country against socialism.

Deem and Pass dead? It's a trap!

Admiral Ackbar: It's a trap!

House Democrats have scrapped the "deem and pass" (AKA DemonPass) tactic for ramming through the health care takeover bill.

Now, according to the Washington Post, there will be three votes:

1. a resolution that will set the terms of debate
2. a package of amendments to the Senate bill that have been demanded by House members
3. the Senate bill itself

Admiral Ackbar's words were never truer: It's a trap.

I'm just not sure who the target of the trap is.

Is this a stalling tactic, to get the phone calls to stop? The House already voted to "suspend the rules" approve the "Slaughter Solution". That vote essentially assured the passage of Obamacare as Don Surber pointed out.

So, now I'm wondering: If they have the votes, why the sudden change in strategy?

It's a trap!

The strategy of tying the vote to "Deem and Pass" the Senate bill to the Senate bill itself was successful. There is no cover. Have the Dems decided that it's too late, and they might as well vote in the light of day and face (or damn) the consequences?

It appears so.

But this really doesn't make the most sense. To me anyway.

Note that the strategy isn't to modify the bill, but to offer a second package of amendments separately.

The plan, as I understand it, is to "make it clear" the intent of the House. But that's not how it works. If the amendments aren't attached to the Senate bill, then once approved, the Senate bill goes to the president for signature. The Senate can ignore the amendments.

If that's supposed to give House Democrats cover, it's not. What are they going to do, go crying to the voters in November, "We told the Senate we wanted these changes, but mean old Harry Reid and bad old Barack Obama broke their word. It's not my fault!"

They'll sound like a bunch of little tittie babies. Because that's what they are.

If the House Democrats want to spring a trap, it's simple: set a trap for the Senate.

Approve the amendments as part of the Senate bill, and send the modified bill back to the Senate for action. The Senate won't pass it, and the health care takeover will die.

House Democrats win because they'll say, "We passed a good bill and those mean old Republicans in the Senate killed it!" They are whiny little tittle babies, remember?

House Republicans will win because even though they'll be out-voted over the amendments, the bill will eventually die. Plus we'll get a good look at RINOs that vote for the amendments, but against the bill.

The American people will win, because this health care monstrosity will die.

The losers will be the Senate Democrats, who won't be able to pass health care. But really, do we care if Senate Democrats lose?

But, I suspect that's not the trap the House Democrats are planning.

No, they're looking to pass health care, with separate amendments, thinking that the American people like the bill, but don't like the process. They're about to find out that we don't like either.
