Even the Twitterz knows

All that fancy technological computer stuff that the Twitterz uses knows that the media thinks just like Barack Obama.

Here's a screen capture from Obama's Twitter page:

See that down in the corner? Where it lists other Twitter users that are similar?

See? I don't see anyone from Fox News listed. Actually, I don't see anyone from CNN listed, either, which sort of surprised me.

When I did a refresh of the page, CBS News did come up. Did a lot more refreshes. George Stephanopoulos, some critter from NPR, and ... Twitter.

Which means that those of you who kept saying Twitter was teh ghey ... may have been right all along.

Coke, fire, pizza ... and other news

Being tired. Setting up an old computer. And just plain being a slacker.

That's my excuse ... or excuses ... for not doing much on teh Twitter or teh Blogger the past few days.

And now I'm all out of excuses. So, looking over what's been happening...

25 years ago last week, Coca-Cola dropped their old formula for New Coke. I celebrated by drinking an RC.

Did you see the story where a Black man beat, stabbed, and burned a White supremacist. Police are still seeking a motive. Really? They have no idea?

In Woodstock, Georgia, five townhouses burned by a flaming action figure.

Doctor told me I needed to lose weight. So, I went to Subway for lunch. You know they got pizza? Mmmm pizza. Losing weight never tasted so good.

I find myself fast-forwarding through ADHD commercials on TiVo. Should I get that looked at?

Are you following me on teh Twitter? No? You should. http://twitter.com/basilsblog

Bias, noise, tires ... and other news

Mark McKinnon says the media has a double-standard about Bush and Obama (tip: Jake Tapper). Oh, and fire is hot. Also, water is wet.

That white noise that businesses pump into offices? Racist!

Milwaukee 20, Pittsburgh 0. Not only does Milwaukee not have a football team, Pittsburgh doesn't have a baseball team.

Spent over $800 on tires yesterday. Wife needed tires on her truck. So, we spent $800. Could have spent more, I guess. But the BF Goodrich tires that came on the truck lasted 7 years. So, we bought more BG Goodrich tires.

Went to supper when we went to pick the truck up from Sears automotive. Jason's Deli. Which is pretty good. And, I treated myself to ice cream when we were done. And, of course, I ate the ice cream too fast. So I was all, "Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. Sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia! Sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia! Ow. Ow. Ow." Or something like that.

Then, when it cleared up, I ate some more. And the cycle repeated.

You know what else makes my brain hurt? People following me on teh Twitter. As well as people not following me on teh Twitter. So, either way, I'm in trouble. So, you can either make it better or worse, if you follow me on teh Twitter: http://twitter.com/basilsblog

Ash, golf, smoke ... and not much other news

A report says that volcano that's causing all the trouble won't actually change the climate. But driving an SUV will. Go figure.

Obama used Karl Rove's weather machine to make the volcano erupt so he could go golfing instead of to Kaczynski's funeral.

Those criticizing Obama for golfing forget that while on the course, he isn't bowing to any dictator. Or signing any tax bills.

Brooksville, Florida, wants to ban smoking by off-duty city employees. What's next? Don't Ask Don't Tell for tobacco next?

No, personally, I hate smoking. It stinks. It's unhealthy. And it stinks. Did I mention it stinks? And smells bad. And stinks. But, if you want to do that to your lungs, fine. Knock yourself out. But I really don't like it when you subject me to it. Or my children. Or my grandchildren. Ruin your own life, though.

But this city banning it for off-duty employees? That's too Big Brother for me.

However, the city should demand you follow me on teh Twitter: http://twitter.com/basilsblog

Rude, ash, freaks, ... and other news

Wearing a hat indoors is rude. Wearing a cap crooked is stupid. Wearing a cap crooked indoors should carry the death penalty.

So, does Iceland now have to buy a bunch of carbon credits from Antarctica?

Freaknik? As if I needed another reason to avoid Atlanta.

NBC's Olympics rating were up 14% from last Olympics. Of course, they paid 34% more for this year's. With mad math skillz like that, no wonder NBC loves Obama and the Democrats.

Crazies, perverts, idiots ... and other news

A Pennsylvania woman was convicted of piercing her cats and sentenced to one year of house arrest. Where she can spend more time with her cats.

A Columbus man gives up his teaching certificate after admitting have sex with a student. Now he has to find underage girls on Facebook like other perverts.

What is it with New Jersey teens?

Wikipedia profile on Leah Ward Sears cleaned up by ... LWsears1992.

Police are looking for Columbus woman wielding a bat. She's described as a woman carrying a bat.

I wish life was like a TiVo and I could just fast-forward to November 2, 2010.

Gosh, it's great to have a computer back, and have time to surf them internets. Yesh, it's been a rough week with computers and stuff. But it's all better now. For now.

Shopping, driving, ranting ... and other news

This weekend, we went to the Walmart at Hooterville (that area near Hooters in Columbus). Wife's flipped of somebody in the parking lot before we made it to the store. Probably something stupid I did while driving.

She hit the beer aisle three times. But only got water. Why it took her three times, though, I don't know.

Saw something odd. Mother-in-law had a tall step ladder set up in the middle of her yard. If she was gonna try to paint the clouds, she'll need a long brush.

Driving in to work yesterday, I passed Moses walking beside the road. Maybe not Moses; he looked like he'd been wandering over 40 years.

Today's shopping tip: stop chewing gum before you enter the pet store. Unless, of course, you like petstore-flavored gum. Just trust me on this.

That stupid son-of-a-bitch has bowed again. If you voted for this ass-clown, then you're an idiot. I told you not to vote for him. But did you listen? Noooooo! What did you learn? Listen to me, that's what.

Russians, gypsies, commies ... and other news

Did you hear about the adoptive parents that sent the child back to Russia because he was behaving badly and wouldn't be good? Really. Can we do that with Obama? He and the Russians seemed to hit it off. It's a win-win!

Why didn't gypsies steal Barack Obama when he was little? It just shows that gypsies are smarter than 52% of the American electorate.

So, which al Qaeda lawyer will Obama nominate for the Supreme Court?

Know who'd be great for the Supreme Court? Me! Here's how it would go...
Lib attorney: If it pleases the court...
Me: It does not. Now, get outta my courtroom.
See? I'm exactly what the Supreme Court needs. Just imagine the State of the Union if that jackass took a shot as the Court? Obama would realize just how nice Joe Wilson was.

Obama's been in office nearly 15 months. We did get the extended warranty, right? We can return him, can't we?

Oh, I so miss my computer. Yes, the MacBook is still in the shop. So, I'm entirely dependent upon my BlackBerry for communication with the outside world. Well, that and the Dell laptop ... when Wife isn't on it.

Maybe it'll be ready today. But this Dell -- I'm on the Dell right now -- hasn't been the the shop once. Sure, some Windows software aggravations, but the hardware has been very dependable. So, what have I learned? We'll find out soon enough.

Bull, hockey and other news

On Monday, a bull gored a teen. This weekend: guess what's for supper?

Yesterday, I was working on four different issues via: email, instant message, telephone, BlackBerry ... all at the same time. Ain't technocracy great!

I haz a happy! Went to Firehouse Subs for lunch!

I haz a sad. MacBook is in the shop. Again. A new Dell is looking more attractive.

Oh, well. With the computer is in the shop, I figured I might as well go to the hockey races, or whatever it's called.

At the hockey rides, they had zamboni raffle tickets, but I ate before I went there, so I didn't get one.

Got ringside seats for the hockey dance.

You know who'd make a good hockey goalie? Jabba the Hut.

Most of the hockey players look like they're kin to Malcolm's older brother, or Stiffler.

I still don't understand why a team from Georgia and a team from Mississippi are playing hockey.

Some guy named Alan asked some chick named Ashley to marry him on the message board at the hockey game. And you thought romance was dead.

When I was in school, nobody played hockey. Lots played hooky, but it's not the same thing. Less beer in hockey.

Not that there wasn't lots of beer sold at the hockey game. But you need to know about my school. Hotels on Jekyll Island still won't rent to anyone under 30 from my home town. That's since 1976.

Instead of putting hockey players in the box as a penalty, they ought to make them wear a pink tutu.

After the big fight, they showed the whole fight again on the instant replay. Where's Gordon Solie when you need him?

I still don't know why Mississippi's no. 42 wanted to fight. Last time he played against Columbus, he got his throat cut. Really.

When the 2nd quarter was done, I was waiting on the halftime band. They never showed. Of course, it was gonna be hard for them to keep their footing on that ice, anyway.

After three, the visiting hockey team was leading, 4-2. I'm didn't stay for the 4th quarter.

Braves season has officially started: Chipper's hurt.

Doctors, blood, TV ... and other news

Yesterday, I had a follow-up doctors appointment. Unexpectedly, they drew blood. I'm thinking the staff read the doctor's instructions wrong. Seriously. The outcome of the appointment was: See you again in February. That's my next yearly physical. And, normally, blood work would be done a week prior.

When I checked out, they saw that blood was drawn, and the follow-up was February. Which is an awfully long time in-between. So, I'm thinking someone read the instructions wrong and they drew blood for no good reason.

There is an upside, though. The blood work showed my midichlorian count was through the roof.

While watching LOST on the TiVo last night, I saw a commercial for Flash Forward. Just how many of the cast of LOST is going to be in Flash Forward? If they add Hurley, I'll watch it.

In other news... Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ridiculed Obama's new nuclear strategy. When small men cast large shadows, the sun is about to set. Or there's a Democrat in the White House.

Loco's, locos, more locos ... and other news

The appropriately-named "Locos" in Columbus to screen Earth Day film.

Lots of newspapers carried the story on the video of U.S. military shooting terrorists that had two Reuters employees embedded with them. The local paper was no exception. And it was a great story -- except for missing facts and anti-US slant.

Related: A Teach-able moment.

There is no proof that the threat of nuclear weapons works. Except for WWII and every year afterward.

People should give Obama a break about his pitching efforts. He never played Little League ball. They require a birth certificate.

If we can't repeal Obamacare, can we at least repeal Obama?

Did you see this story? Weekend At Bernie's III.

Talk about a strict dress code!

Boobs, baseball, basketball ... and other news

I have been upgraded from "cruel and unusual" to "evil."

What a bunch of boobs!

Boobies save Billion$?

Augusta Chronicle on Phil Hare. Wish I'd said that.

Obama should hire Professor Farnsworth as press secretary: Good news, everyone! Unemployment will rise!

What about people that get health care and still die? When is Obama gonna fix that?

Obama's first pitch: high and way to the left. Just like Obama.

Obama asked the Washington Baseball Club to change their name to the "Internationals." Prove he didn't.

Why does Tiger Woods get tougher questions than Obama? Tiger only screwed a few dozen women, not an entire country.

Tiger says "looking forward to the first tee." Just a year ago, he was looking forward to T and A.

Yesterday, I kept hearing a lot about some "Duke Butler" person. Who is that? Does he play baseball?

Next year, the NCAA cancels the regular season and simply holds a 347-team tournament.

March Madness in April. The Boys of Summer playing in November. Fall football lasting until February. Somebody buy them folks a calendar.

Finally! No distractions from baseball! So there is good news after all.

The iPad is an iPod Touch on steroids. Including the bad attitude and shrunken 'nads.

More bloggers would make good journalists than journalists would make good bloggers.

Seems George Clooney doesn't want to get upstaged by Christian Bale.

One final thing: The local paper had a news story Rev. Dan Gates -- not my pastor, just a friend -- who is battling cancer. Prayers.

Stuff

Was Phil Hare being metaphorical? Or was it the Hep-C? Trick question. He's simply a typical Democrat.

In an underwater steel cage Texas death match between Hank Johnson and Phil Hare, who wins? Everybody! It's under water!

Harry Smith called Bush a Nazi and called for the imprisonment of Rush Limbaugh. I know so, cause I used the CBS fact-checking method.

When Harry Smith had his colonoscopy, his doctor missed something: Harry Smith's head.

Obama tells critics to "tone down" rhetoric. Or what?

Obama: I spent all that money so we wouldn't go bankrupt. Really.

Two "suspicious packages" in Atlanta have caused MARTA delays. And not even in Hank Johnson's district.

What was in the packages? Hank Johnson's brain. We knew he had one, just not where it was.

Activists block whale meat carrying ship. Mmmm... Whale.

If you think things wouldn't be any better if John McCain had won the election, you don't grasp the problem.

Just in case you weren't clear: 16,500 More Reasons to Vote Republican in November.

Unemployment steady at 9.7% Yay! As many people got jobs as lost jobs!

Charlie is with the Angel.

Burger King salad. Some assembly required.

Traffic was horrible after work yesterday. And some people were taking their own sweet time making turns. Light would turn green and they'd just sit there. There should be a traffic sign that says "No Fiddle-Farting Around." Yeah, that'd help.

Clowns, clowns, clowns ... and other news

Now the left wants to ban Ronald McDonald. Fear not. As soon as they discover there's a Black man under the makeup, they'll stop.

What's next? Government takeover of Ronald McDonald house?

Okay, the guy beneath the Ronald McDonald makeup isn't Black. But it made you pause and think for a minute, didn't it? And what does that say about you?

Yes the SUV is parked. And a cop is 20 away, not paying attention.

Was Marvin the Martian drafted?

Okay, maybe I shouldn't be picking on people in Columbus. But, sometimes, they make it so easy.

If Democrats get any more stupid, they will tip over and capsize.

Of course, the district that elected Hank Johnson is the same one that elected Cynthia McKinney. That explains a lot.

Yes, he's the same Hank Johnson you saw standing next to John Lewis when he lied about racial slurs.

And the same Hank Johnson that wants to free Savannah cop-killer Troy Davis.

By the way, have you bitch-slapped a socialist today?

Peckers, dicks, douches ... and other news

Our top story tonight: somebody drew a picture of a pecker at school. No, really, that was the top story on the 6 o'clock news on one local channel.

Lee County (AL) man says sex with 90-year-old woman was consensual. Jury thought otherwise.

Jesse James checks into treatment facility. I didn't know they had Douchebag Rehab.

Report: NASA Scientists to Test Toyota Electronics. They want to know why Toyotas don't blow up or have huge cost overruns.

WMD, XP, AI ... and other news

Wife no longer gets to pick where we eat lunch. Place she picked yesterday had a big ol' picture of Obama on the wall. Food was good, but...

Three men were arrested on sex charges at Gwinnett County, Georgia Kmart. More proof that Kmart is teh ghey.

So, the Hutaree bombs are WMDs, but what Saddam had isn't? If only Saddam had claimed to be a Christian...

"Hutaree" still sounds like something from Star Wars.

Proof Microsoft runs NBC: Windows XP, still the number 1 OS, is canceled.

Erykah Badu's clothes were actually removed by a man on the grassy knoll.

A Columbus, Georgia woman attacked a man with scissors. If only the man had a rock. Because rock beats scissors. But then, the woman may have had paper...

Ryan's, raids, raunchiness ... and other news

I don't want to eat at Ryan's. But I do want to eat wherever it is they film their commercials, because the food there looks great!

Obama was out of the country? Okay, who's got fired? Did everyone survive?

Usually, when he leaves, someone resigns or something. Sort of like when Al Capone went to Florida, somebody on Chicago's North Side would wind up on the floor of a barber shop or face down in his soup. It's the Chicago way.

How does Obama deal with the threat of Islamic terrorists? He raids Christian militia groups. Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking up for the Hutaree -- who, by the way, sound like something out of Star Wars. But I can't help but wonder if this isn't a prelude to demonizing the Christian right.

Okay, an increase in demonizing the Christian right.

Zoo day, Earth Hour, media bias ... and other news

Took the circus to the zoo. In Montgomery with grandchildren.

No, that's not the grandchildren. Although, at times, there are similarities.

While walking around the zoo, I decided to see if I could make others yawn. It worked. And, yes, I was bored at the time.

It seemed that there are more people from different places than animals from different places.

I discovered that zoo restroom are awful. Or, at least, the one I went into was. More people had marked territory there than animals in the habitat. Such animals! The people, I mean.

I did stop by the GOP Moderates exhibit at the zoo.

Overall, a fun day at the zoo.

You know, if Bush was still president, for Earth Hour, we'd have bombed the hell out of Jupiter.

Democrats are so bad at foreign policy because they don't believe there is any such thing as a foreigner.

One final thing... I heard ABC reporter David Kerley say "Tea Bag Movement" in a report. I even blogged about it. But, it seems that I'm the only one who seems to think it's worth mentioning. I mean, where's the outrage? Oh, well.

Pushy Verizon, blasphemous actors, angry dogs ... and other news

At lunch yesterday, I noticed a Skype icon just appeared on my BlackBerry. My first thought was "WTF?!" Then I confirmed that Verizon pushed it on BlackBerry users.

Verizon pushed something on us that we didn't ask for? Who runs that company, Barack Obama?

Imagine the outcry if it had been Muhammad in this story.

Have the Democrats blamed the tea party for that deadly coffee shop blast in Iraq?

Maybe the tea party sank that South Korean ship.

A dog was sent to anger management after it mauls a police car (video here). We need to pass Bo-care!

A Braves minor league player has been charged with offering $75 for sex. How much did Obama offer to screw America?

A Forsyth County Gergia 7th-grader was suspended for sexting nude pictures of herself to boys. I blame the TeaParty!

Then there was the drunk Pennsylvania man that tried to resuscitate dead opossum. Yes, he was arrested.

Don't forget about the marijuana that ended up at a bakery in Marietta, Georgia.

"24" is canceled. But, don't fret. they're going to make a "24" movie. And you thought "Lord of the Rings" was a long film!

Yay! TiVo decided to record Clash of the Titans! Nothing like cheesy special effects and bad acting to cure insomnia. And, yes, it worked.

Stupid carjackers, stupid Obama voters ... and other stupid news

Drive-thrus are dumbass magnets. Just sayin'.

Carjacker dies after wrecking the vehicle he stole. That should happen more often.

Obama received 78% of the Jewish vote in 2008. How's that workin' out for ya?

Obamacare offers Viagra for child molesters. Is that the Democrats idea of making life hard for criminals?

If you voted Democrat, that's what you voted for. Dumbass.

Tip for 53% of America: Next time somebody offers "Change," ask what kind. Dumbass.

Rep. Mike Rogers (D-AL-3) is right: "Wasteful spending won’t help create jobs. Creating incentives for businesses to hire will. It’s the economy, stupid!"

If they make a movie about the Pope, will they call it "Sex and the Vatican City?"
