The "Best" Movies: Recap, part 14

I'm giving a rundown of the "best" movies (details about the list are here). I've done 130 so far. Here are the next 10:
  • Rebecca
    Best Picture (1940)
With Laurence Olivier, Joan Fontaine, George Sanders, Judith Anderson, Nigel Bruce, and Reginald Denny -- directed by Alfred Hitchcock -- this should be a can't miss. But, quite honestly, I didn't care for it. But, you might like it. Oh, this actually was a 1939 movie, but the story goes that they delayed the release so it wouldn't compete with Gone With The Wind at the Oscars. And, as everyone knows (or should), 1939 was the bestest year ever for movies.
  • Rebel Without a Cause
    #59 Top 100 (1998)
    Movie without a plot.
  • Red River
    #5 Western
    A good John Wayne movie
  • Reds
    #9 Epics
I saw this one when it came out. I would have walked out, but I had payed to see the film, and wanted to get my money's worth. That was one of the stupidest decisions I ever made. All this to say, give it a miss.
  • Rocky
    #78 Top 100 (1998)
    #57 Top 100 (2007)
    #2 Sports movie
    Best Picture (1976)
It was a good film. Not great, but a good film. Good story. Worth a view.
  • Roman Holiday
    #4 Romantic comedy
Okay film. I wanted to like it more.
  • Saving Private Ryan
    #71 Top 100 (2007)
    #8 Epics
My favorite of all the movies where Tom Hanks dies at the end.
  • Scarface (1932)
    #6 Gangster movie
    A good gangster flick.
  • Scarface (1983)
    #10 Gangster movie
Remake of the 1932 film of the same name. Good film, but violent.
  • Schindler's List
    #9 Top 100 (1998)
    #8 Top 100 (2007)
    #3 Epics
    Best Picture (1993)
It was okay. I wouldn't say great, but very good.
That makes 140 movies. Another 10 coming soon.
