When a coma is better than real life

Playing catch-up, I'm just now watching In Plain Sight on the TiVo.

It's the episode where the ATF agent wakes up from a 3-year coma. He asked Mary who that guy was that was on all the TV channels. It was Barack Obama.

I don't know if they intended to, but I chose to see it as a swipe at Obama. When the agent went into a coma three years ago, nobody knew who Obama was. Somehow, he's now the president.

There is no good scenario where somebody that no one knows anything about goes from obscurity to president of the United States.

Which means that today's country is not a good scenario.
