Miscellany

Iowahawk added this siteto his BlogRoll! No, that's not the first site I've been really excited about who has added us to his roll. But it is the latest. And I'm darned proud. He even mentioned the "trenchant commentary." Of course, I had to look up what that meant. Best I could tell, it has to something to do with being born in July.

This site's new URL has been adopted by most of the people who have it on their BlogRoll. There are only two who haven't updated. The JavaScript redirection routine on the old site seems to work okay, so it's not a big deal. Also, the URL on the Alliance BlogRoll still is the old site. The main thing for me is that I don't see where they are coming from, since the referrer address shows as the old site. Oh, well. I'll live.

Day By Day is now carried here. It's a daily read for me, and has been for a while. I went the pop-up route. But I'm still working on having it do the little peek-a-boo thing that some php sites do. That's cool.

Bonfire of the Vanities is coming here March 8th. I'm excited about hosting it. But I feel I'm more than qualified. I mean, if anyone knows anything about bad blog posts, it's me! By the way, I had submitted to host the New Blogs Showcase, but they've ignored me. Which means they have higher standards than the Bonfire.

Microsoft is planning Internet Explorer 7. They have reversed a previous decision and decided it was needed. But regular readers already knew that some folks at Microsoft were using Firefox on occasion. Of course, I wrote about that at lunch yesterday. Still, worth mentioning again.

Yesterday, I had to re-write my morning post, and ran out of time for a Breakfast Special. "No big deal," I thought. I thought I was putting up too many posts anyway, and thought it best to cut back to at most three a day: a morning rambling, a lunch link-fest, and an evening Headline News. Was I ever surprised when someone commented on missing Breakfast. Without any information to the contrary, I'll assume that those who care, care to see a Breakfast post. So, it will be back this morning. About 6:00 AM.
