Search Engine Disappointments IX

Some new search phrases showed up on the logs this week. Some, of course, are obvious. But there were some that I haven't figured out. Or, while accurate, were NOT what the person was searching for. Here are some of the ones that caught my eye. Note that the ranking may change. But these numbers are accurate at the time I checked.

Google: naacp groupthink (#16)

Google: niggerdom (#3)

Yahoo!: braless babes (#4)
Sorry. Unless you're counting me, perhaps?

Google: Lucy Ramona and their brother Sunset Sam (#4)
Still a cool video. But you won't find it here.

Yahoo!: Spanked for being naughty (Top 10)

AlltheWeb: tit blog (Top 10)

Google: jamie lynn spears freeweb address (#1)

AOL Search: humorous compliments (#3, #4)

MSN: china gay use yahoo msn (#4)
I wonder which they think I am?

Google: moehawk (#3)

The real shame is, oystersnout isn't #1. Yet.

Google: girls haircuts at the barbershop (Top 300)
This one has me totally baffled in so many ways.

Yahoo!: dixie crystals sugar recipes (Top 100)
I'm shocked that we even showed up.

Yahoo!: incest stories (Top 300)
Someone clicked on 261 other links before they got to this one. How much can someone want to read really bad porno?

Google: +"world's strongest boy" +"discovery" +"sorry" (#1)
MSN: pictures of the world's strongest boy (#3)
Someone wants to know about that kid. Someone ought to just read Superman's early years in the comic books.

MSN: mafia hitmen pictures (#1)
I'm not sure if this is good or bad.

Yahoo!: maggie mike gallagher (#7)

Google: harold kang (Top 10)

I keep forgetting who he is.

MSN: bugtussle steak alabama (#1)

I'm at a loss about this one

Google: filthy socks (Top 400)
I don't want to know.

Google: "asp IF THEN statements" (#1)
The dude who conduct the last ASP class at work would be quite shocked about this.

Google: firefox security error window.location.href (Top 25)

Google: Pepsi halts wave-themed ad campaign commercial (#5)
So few people care about Pepsi's commercials that we end up in the top five? No wonder they stopped it.

MSN: ted bundy and his polygraph examinations (Top 30)
Sounds like the name of a bad rock band.

Google: "white trash pictures" (Top 10)

Google Australia: CH3COOC6H4COOH (#3)
What I don't get is, if they already knew the formula, what are they looking up?

MSN: Article titled "Clinton Sees Better future for Democrats"\ (#1)

They looked for that and found THIS BLOG??

Yahoo!: INFORMATION ABOUT THOMAS JEFFERSONS TELESCOPE (#3)

As odd as it seems that this blog is number three, a site about The
Jeffersons (yes, "Movin' On Up" -- those Jeffersons) is number one.

Google: bbc saxe heir prank (#2)

Yahoo!: diet smith industries (#1)
Okay, 'fess up. How many know who Diet Smith is? Show of hands. Anybody? Okay, two of you. Gosh, I'm old.

Sorry for the delay in posting this. I know you've been upset all
weekend that I didn't post it earlier. I'll have a roundup of other
sites' Search Engine related posts later.

  4. I still remember the first time I saw the "Cruisin'" video on TBS "Night Tracks." At least, that's where I think I saw it. Maybe I don't remember it at all.
