Kind of like when Ike (the president of sainted memory appearing in posts recently here and here, the latter being a case where even a bitter Iraq war opponent recognizes some good in Ike) threatened to nuke Beijing at the end of the Korean conflict. Determination on our part makes the bad guys more prone to taking us seriously (Google Operation Linebacker for another example of the best way to win such wars and check out the ISG and Chamberlain for an example of how not to do so along these lines).
