Biscuits Drop Second Straight

Montgomery BiscuitsAfter being last team in the Southern League to lose a game, the Montgomery Biscuits dropped their second game in a row Wednesday night to the Chattanooga Lookouts (Reds).

The Biscuits fell behind early on back-to-back doubles in the 1st inning, but fought back in the 5th to take the lead. DH Gabriel Martinez hit a 3-run homer in the top of the 5th, scoring 3B Evan Longoria,who reached on an error, and C Josh Arhart, who walked.

Chattanooga cut the lead to 3-2, on a solo home run in the bottom of the 5th, then took the lead in the 6th, scoring 4 runs on a double, four singles, an intentional walk, and a sacrifice fly.

After going down in order in the 7th, the Biscuits threatened in the 8th, putting runners on second and third with no outs. Two pitching changes resulted in the Biscuits going down in order to conclude the 8th and 9th innings, sealing the win for Chattanooga.

Biscuits P Chris Seddon was tagged with the loss, but tallied 7 strikeouts in 5 innings work.

The second game of the 5-game series is Thursday night in Chattanooga.
