The Montgomery Biscuits came up short in the series finale with the Huntsville Stars (Brewers) tonight, falling 3-0.
Huntsville got on the board early on a 2-run homer by CH Steve Moss in the top of the 1st. The Biscuits had a runner on 3rd in the bottom of the 1st, when SS Reid Brignac doubled and took third on a fielding error, but was stranded.
They had runners in scoring position in the 4th, 6th and 7th innings, but were unable to bring a man around.
Huntsville made it 3-0 in the 9th, when 2B Hernan Iribarren singled, scoring CF Mel Stocker, who had tripled to lead off the inning.
Mike Prochaska allowed 4 hits and struck out 7 without walking anyone, but the 2-run homer made the difference in the game. With the loss, he dropped to 0-2. Richard De Los Santos pitched a perfect 8th inning. Dale Thayer pitched the 9th, and allowe 1 run on 2 hits.
The loss drops the Biscuits to 10-9. They're off Thursday, and open a 5-game series in Jacksonville on Friday.
