Despite outhitting the Greenville Drive (Red Sox), the Columbus Catfish came out on the short end of a 3-0 score Tuesday night.
Starting pitcher Wade Townsend lasted three innings, allowing 3 runs, 4 hits, walking 3, and striking out 4. Reliever Chris Kelly worked 3 innings, allowing 1 hit, a walk, and had 1 K. Neal Frontz pitched the last 2 innings, allowing 1 hit and striking out 2.
Catfish batters had 8 hits, but left 8 runners on base, 5 in scoring position.
The loss drops the Catfish to 2-4, still in 5th place. The series with Greenville continues Wedensday.
Update: I completely missed that Jon Lester was pitching for Greenville. More here.
