The Montgomery Biscuits were held to 3 hits and the Birmingham Barons (White Sox) pounded out 12 en route to a 10-1 decision Tuesday night.
The Biscuits scored first ... without even recording a hit ... in the 2nd inning. 3B Evan Longoria and 1B Chris Nowak both walked, then RF Shaun Cumberland reached on an error, loading the bases. C Josh Arhart walked, forcing in Longoria. And that was it for the Biscuits.
Although 6 more batters reached base on walks, none scored. In fact, the Biscuits were 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position. They left 9 runners on base.
Birmingham was more productive at the plate, getting runners on base every inning, and scoring in 5 of 8 innings.
Biscuits starter Derek Feldkamp pitched 5 innings, allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, walking 3, and striking out 1. He's now 0-2 on the season.
