Another Ninth Inning Loss

Go Catfish! For the second time in as many nights, the Catfish dropped a game to the Augusta GreenJackets (Giants) in the ninth inning. Tonight's game was a 4-3 loss. A hit batsman with the bases loaded sent the final run across the plate.

Lucas May drives in 2 runsThe loss overshadowed another great game by Lucas May, of the the players the wife and I are "sponsoring." Luke went 3-for-4 with a 2-run single in the first inning, and a double in the  6th. He upped his average to .281 with his showing, third best on the team.

Our other player, Dan Batz, had the night off and still leads the team with a .302 batting average.

Once again, the Catfish played well enough to win, but so did the other team. And, again, the other team took the win. The Catfish are 3-10 in 1-run games.

Sunday afternoon, they try to put it together against the GreenJackets, and close out the series Monday before heading to Charleston to play the RiverDogs (Yankees).

I'll get to see my next game Saturday, the 21st, when they return to Columbus to battle the Savannah Sand Gnats (Nationals).
