Catfish: Another 1-Run Loss

The Catfish opened their series with the Charleston RiverDogs (Yankees) tonight, and the outcome was familiar. Good, close game, but Columbus fell 2-1 in 11 innings.

One of the players the wife and I "sponsor," Lucas May, had 2 of the 4 Catfish hits, a solo-homer in the 4th and a double in the 7th. His batting average is up to .288, second on the team behind Dan Batz, our other player, whose average fell to .304 after going hitless tonight.

Once again, the Catfish came so close, but weren't able to clinch the win, allowing the tying run in the bottom of the 9th, and the winning run in the 11th.

Tomorrow, the series continues with game two of the four-game series.
