It was a long, hard, seven-game losing streak. The key word in that sentence is "was." Tonight, the Catfish finally broke through and beat the Savannah Sand Gnats (Nationals), 5-3.
One of our players, first baseman Dan Batz, went 1-for-3 with a walk, scored the winning run and drove in the insurance run. Our other player, Lucas May, was hitless tonight, but all smiles afterwards. Like Dan, Luke is a real team player and is happier going hitless and the team winning than having a good individual game but losing. They are those kind of players, and the wife and I are fortunate to be "sponsoring" them.
The fourth game of the series is tomorrow, and the Catfish can salvage a series split with a win.
