Alabama Improper

Today, we have one of my favortie bloggers ... and one of my favorite people ... Carol of Alabama Improper...

Everyone's ready with their questions...

First question please...

bachman
Does the American mainstream media do anything that outrages you?

Yes, a few things. First off they bug the crap out of me when they take something insignificant and try to make it into news. And then they will go on and on and on about the damned thing. Like the whole Trent Lott thing. I realize it was the Democrats getting their panties in a wad but the MSM certainly helped twist them up even more. The next thing that bothers me about the MSM is their damned editorializing, inserting their opinion into "reporting the news"; leave that to the bloggers, please.

What's your favorite color, and why?

I don't have a favorite color. Or maybe I do and it just depends on what mood I am in that day. If I'm in an improper mood then I'd say something dark...oh hell, who am I kidding? No, I don't have a favorite color. Why? Because I don't want to be politically incorrect and piss off the other colors.

What's your favorite childhood memory?

Spending the summer with my grandparents.

What's you favorite flower?

Eeegads. I don't think I have a favorite flower either. Perhaps wildflowers would be my favorite. Or any flower that is delivered to me. Yeah, that's it.

What's your favorite adult beverage?

Finally! An easy question. That would be coffee. What brand? Hot, strong, and preferrably intravenously. Next to coffee? COKE but I have taken a liking to Diet Coke WITH LIME.

What's your biggest vice?

I have lots of vices but you asked about my biggest one...so...I'd have to say smoking of course. I used to bite my fingernails but I quit and believe it or not the last time I quit smoking is when I quit biting my fingernails.

Unfortunately I have relapsed on the smoking and I know it's nasty! Makes me sick at times.

Do you have any phobias?

Man, Rodeo of the Mind, I am loving your questions. Phobias. Phobias. Hmmm, I'd have to say flying. I had to fly this past Christmas for the first time in YEARS. I used to not have this phobia when I was younger and NO I didn't develop it since 9/11, I developed it when I sobered up and starting having children and becoming responsible and crap. Anyway, when I flew up to Ohio during Christmas my first plane was a little rinky dink 30 passenger Delta commuter jet. And the first time that pilot took that plane into a descent and that nose of the plane pointed down I FREAKED OUT because I thought we were "in trouble" and fixin' to crash. I threw my feet up on the seat in front of me and reached out across the skinny little narrow aisle and grabbed the young man sitting there. It was just an automatic reaction. He laughed and said, "you don't fly much do you?" Quite embarrassing. Other phobia? Snakes.

Did you really lose your right eye, or is the patch just a fashion statement?

No, I have both my eyeballs thankfully. I was trying to attract Captain Jack Sparrow's eye. Heh.

Did you really join the Navy in an attempt to pursue Capt. Jack Sparrow around the Seven Seas?

Heh. I was in the Navy from 1985 - 1990 and I hadn't heard of Captain Jack Sparrow at the time. Drats. But you can rest assured that if I had heard of Captain Jack Sparrow, then yes, I would have pursued him to the end of the Seven Seas and back (that's around the world, right?).

If you were a barnyard animal, what would you be, and why?

This is a trick question, isn't it? You are trying to pull a Freud on me, right?

OH what the hell, I'll attempt to answer and let you decide if I'm in my right mind or not. Barnyard animal? Hmmm, I'd have to say....hmm, you know what? On second thought I don't think I'd want to be a barnyard animal. Now don't go gettin' upset, I have taken more time than probably required to think about this question and it is my conclusion that , nope, I don't want to be a barnyard animal. Sorry. Oh ok, I want to be the barnyard dog, or is that supposed to be a junkyard dog? At any rate, there must be a barnyard dog somewhere and I would want to be the barnyard dog because he probably gets the run of the place, harassing the other animals and/or be lazy on the porch. Yep.

Do you prefer boxers or briefs on a man?

It's boxers or nothing at all.

What's with the pirate fetish?

OK, who let Rodeo of the Mind in the blog room? Um ROTM...are you restraining order material or what? OH well, at least you showed up ON TIME (pokes fun at MVRWC) to ask your questions!

Back to your original question; the pirate fetish. Ah yes, well, Captain Jack Sparrow is soooooooooo sexy I just can't help myself.

Who can drink more -- you (Alabama Improper) or Beth (My Vast Right Wing Conspiracy)?

Most definitely Beth. I try not to drink at all, I'm allergic to alcohol; if I drink it I break out into a thousand assholes.

DonW
What is George W. Bush's biggest fault as President?

Fault?! George W. Bush has no fault as my President. OK, I'll consider this as a serious question and try to answer it seriously. Since there is no perfect human being then I'd have to say a character defect of his is allowing Helen Thomas in the press room. Well, OK, I don't think I care too much for his "Comprehensive Immigration Reform".

DonW
What is George W. Bush's greatest strength as President?

His cowboyish sexy good-looks ;-) For real, he has chosen well in regards to staff. His strong conviction and beliefs; his faith, and he stands strong for America.

grandpa
What frightens you?

OMG! You are kidding me right? Well, I'll try to narrow it down; that I'm not a good mother. I'm afraid I'm going to screw up my children somehow. There, I said it.

What is the most improper thing about Alabama?

The humidity! Good gawd man, the humidity!

What kind of computer does the library have?

A slow one, and I believe the "m" sticks on the keyboard. But other than that I couldn't tell you what brand it was. It was a cream color computer, that help?

Carol Ann, if you were stranded on an island for the rest of your life and were given a lifetime supply of one food and one beverage, what would it be? Spoilage is not a factor.

Captain Ja oh food, um, NOT canteloupe, that's for damned sure. Beverage would be coffee, I know I should pick water, but I'm taking the damned coffee. As far as food goes? Pineapples. Yep, I have recently discovered I like FRESH pineapple.

What's the best advice you can give your children?

See "frightening" question above. The best advice I can give my children is to keep your own side of the road clean, trust God, and help others.

squirrel
What's the most Redneck / White trash thing you've ever done?

I can't share that here in a public blogging interview!

squirrel
Who would be best to play you in the movie about your life?

Oprah Winfrey. Just kidding. No, I think Wynona Ryder. Why? I have no idea, she just popped into my head.

mimi
What nation is the United States most important ally?

Great Britain

mimi
What's your favorite song?

This one changes, sort of like the favorite color question, but it's still "Drops of Jupiter" by Train and yes, it has a special meaning for me.

MacStansbury
I'm the worst question asker ever. I can't think of a darn thing to ask. Do you ever get like that? All, not-able-to-ask-things-y?

Yeah, sort of like not being able to come up with darned ole witty answers to these questions. And so much for your "lightning round of questions." I feel jipped.

I'd like to ask you Five Questions. I mean, Three Questions... Question One: who is your favorite Blues artist?

KoKo Taylor. Next.

Question Two: in your "about me" page, you mention how you were 'pleasantly surprised' when finding out more about Jaimie Foxx. Name another time you were 'pleasantly surprised' by someone.

Bloggers. basil and E.L. Frederick obviously come to mind because I actually met them in person. And I thought bloggers were just all about the blog, but they are not. They are real people who are compassionate and have the spirit of helping others. Next.

Question Five. Uh, Question Three: Spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, bacon, & spam, OR... spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam & spam?

Wha??? Bacon! Thank you.

Beth C
How on earth do you manage school and a new job as a "single" mom?

Well, I attempted to take the summer off. I didn't take any classes this summer because the kids were home, however, this job opportunity sort of landed in my lap thanks to E.L. Frederick and I had to take it. As far as starting school again in the fall; we shall see. Perhaps I can manage to take one or two classes. I don't know. All I can say is one day at a time and a lot of help from my friends.

Beulah Mae
OH I SEE UR WON OF THEM BAMMA FAN'S! UR STOPID CUZ ABRURN RULZ!!! BUTT Y U AINT GO DOWN 2 VIZIT MISS BETH THAT BITCH?!?!! SHE GITS ALL CARBBY CUZ THEM BAMMA BLOGGOR'S AINT NEVER GIT 2-GETHOR (U 2 CUZIN RED!!!!)

Yeah I hear ya Beulah Mae! I'd love to get a bunch of us Bama bloggers together but them Auburn ones can stay where they are. Ah, Beulah Mae, don't get your panties in a wad, I'm just kiddin' ya about staying home cause you're an Auburn fan. That is what you asked, right?

Beulah Mae
AND WAHT'S UR FRIENED'S NAME WHO JEST MOVE'D IN TOO MY TRAILOR PARK??? SHE AINT TO FIRENDLEY YET!!!

Heh, that'd be Foxxxy and she is some sort of "exotic" dancer, I believe she dances at Jimmy's, so she's probably pretty tired and sleeps all day. I know I can get in an ill mood when I'm too tired. Just give her a little time and she'll come around; probably to bum some smokes I'm sure cause she spends all her dancing tips on Milwaukee's Beast (light).

Beth C
What do you think is the WORST thing about the blogosphere?

The worst thing about the blogosphere? Oh man I don't know because I don't take it too seriously really - I just like the stickers (lol). Oh.... maybe when people start personal attacks? Or perhaps when everyone jumps all over the same story (kind of like the MSM does) and won't give it a rest and it gets kind of old reading pretty much the same thing. I'd like to see more original content - like when you get on one of your jags. Heheh.

Beth C
What's the best?

The best? It gives me somewhere to vent and say what I really want to say and not have to worry too much about what others think. The blogosphere is a love/hate relationship for me but what isn't, right? While on one hand I "feel" like I can say whatever the hell I want to and not have to worry because of the lack of face-to-face real human, look you in the eye contact - the other side is that I do like, and need, the face-toface human, look you in the eye contact. Ya know?

Beth C
Don't you hate it when people forget to do things they said they were going to do, and then end up doing them past the last minute?
::guiltily going to hide::

Don't feel guilty Beth. You got it done and that's all that matters. And even if you would have forgotten completely I would not have gotten upset, I know you're busy too. No biggie, right? ;-) Man, this past year and a half has taught me a lot and one of the major things that has stuck with me is that life is too short to stay pissed off. You're the best Beth. Thanks.

If you could relive one day in your life, what day would that be?

The day I met Michael, or our first date.

basil
What's the most fun you've ever had with your clothes on?

Doing this interview, oh wait, with my clothes on? I don't know why but the day I flew up to Ohio on that little rinky dink 30 passenger Delta commuter jet comes to mind. Why? Because I was very fearful and I did it anyway. But then again, the day you and Mrs. basil came to Alabama and we all went out to eat, and to the ballgame, is right up there too. And yet 7-10-06 comes to mind as well; my first day back to work-work in 11 years. ;-)

basil
Anything you'd like to add?

Thank you everyone for showing up. I had a swell time and I hope you enjoyed yourself too. Now get back to blogging, damn it!

Thanks to Carol, our Little Miss Alabama Improper, for agreeing to take these questions. We certainly enjoyed it.

Next week, it's two that ought to really be fun ... for very different reasons. We have Laurence Simon (This Blog Is Full Of Crap) ... and my Big Sister (who's 5'4'') ... both answering questions.

  7. Man, Rodeo of the Mind, I am loving your questions.

she likes my questions, so far...

This is a trick question, isn't it? You are trying to pull a Freud on me, right?

uh oh, she's dubious of my questions now...

OK, who let Rodeo of the Mind in the blog room? Um ROTM...are you restraining order material or what?

What the Hell?? She's turned against me!! It's a plot I tell 'ya. I'm normal, *REALLY* I am!
