Brunch: 8/6/2005

LasvegassignYour humble host is taking a break this weekend. And this week. And next weekend. And the first of next week. Running the show will be some old friends, and some posting here for the first time. But, everyone who has the keys to the place is welcome to drop by. You're going to have a great time. Oh, and I plan to, also.

I'm taking the ol' laptop, but I'm not sure how much blogging time there will be for blogging. What with the Star Trek convention and everything. But, I might drop in from time to time. Then again, I might not.

Although my break starts now, there will be a follow-up Sunday morning to this morning's post. It's written. It's in queue. It's just waiting on the clock. For now though, I leave you with the suggestion that you try one of these specials with your weekend brunch:

  2. Thank you. I appreciate that.

Oh, who might be filling in? Check out the Brunch menu. Except for ScrappleFace. I just had to link to those two posts. But the rest will be your hosts for the next 10 days or so, depending on how busy they are.

  7. NOW and NARAL -- so YESTERDAY

From the WSJ The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that political donations to the National Organization of (Some) Women declined from $327,000 in 1992 to $44,000 in 2004. No, that's not a typo: $44,000. NARAL's long-time president, Kate Michelma...

It may certainly be true that Mac's bark is worse than his bite. But given the sometime ferocity of his bark and the secret softness of his heart, as Herschel Bernardi said on that famous commercial for Tootsie, "The World May Never Know."

I'm Beth, and I'm a lousy guest-blogger. I'm supposed to be guest-blogging here this week. And Jody's, still. And probably somewhere else that I've forgotten. What do you do when you have nothing to say and you already put up
