Catfish: Loss To Asheville

Go Catfish! The Catfish returned home tonight, but the Asheville Tourists (Rockies) ruined the opener, taking a 5-0. The Tourists held the Catfish to four hits.

From the Catfish Web site:

The Asheville Tourists beat the Columbus Catfish tonight 5-0 at Golden Park by scoring runs in each of the final four innings to end the Catfish winning streak at three games. Asheville took the lead in the sixth inning 1-0 on two Catfish errors and the lead held as the Fish were shutout tonight for the fourth time in 55 games. RHP Blake Johnson allowed just one unearned run in six innings of work but took the loss to fall to 3-3. Johnson has allowed just three earned runs in his last six starts, a span of 35.1 innings.

Only three Catfish managed to get hits, including Lucas May, who was 1-for-4. Tomorrow night, the next winning streak starts when game two of this four-game series gets underway.

  1. I always hate nights like tonight. The team does good on the road, I talk my friends into coming, and then this happens. Tomorrow should be good with Canada's best pitching...

  2. Some nights are like that. That's baseball. And Saturday's a whole new day.
