Dear TypePad, Part III

Dear TypePad:

Congratulations! It looks like you have fixed the TrackBack issue!

Well, okay, it's not really fixed. But it's back to where it was 20 days ago!

Which means that third-party forms (such as the Wizbang and Kalsey forms, and such as HaloScan) aren't being routinely rejected. And that's good news.

For the blogs that are still on TypePad.

Okay, confession time. I still have TypePad blogs. But I've already moved two away. Including this little blog.

But, for those with TypePad blogs, it is indeed good news that you're not rejecting legitimate TrackBacks from third-party forms.

But you know what? I still think you should have tested for third-party forms. Because if you had, you'd have caught that.

Maybe you don't want to admit that you didn't think your testing through. Maybe you don't think that was important. But you fixed it. So you must have.

C'mon. Admit it.

You didn't think it through, did you?

I'm so tempted to say that if you made a habit of thinking things through, you'd have planned your testing better. And I'm tempted to say that if you thought things through, you wouldn't have a parking lot full of Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers.

But I'll refrain from saying that.

Anyway, good for you for fixing the third-party forms issue. TypePad blogs should be happy.

Now, if you'd only do something about fixing your system so it properly recognizes when TrackBacks it sends are accepted or rejected.

Yep, that old problem still exists. You know the one, don't you? The one where a TrackBack is sent and accepted, but the system doesn't know it? So the TrackBack URL stays in the form? And sometimes causes duplicate TrackBacks?

And the problem with TrackBacks not being accepted from one TypePad blog to another TypePad blog?

Yes, that old problem. Maybe you ought to get crackin' on fixin' that, huh?

I'll wait. It's not impacting me as much as it used to.

Know what I mean?
