Catfish: Winning Streak At Five

Go Catfish! The longest current winning streak in the South Atlantic League grew to five games tonight as the Catfish beat the Hickory Crawdads (Pirates), 8-5.

The two players we "sponsor" had good defensive games tonight. Dan Batz and Lucas May both played excellent defense at first and short respectively. Luke had a triple and scored in the first inning. Dan still has the top batting average on the team, despite dropping to .285 after going hitless.

In fact, the first four batters in the lineup went 2-for-15, but the rest of the lineup 9-for-19 and provided the scoring difference in the game.

Tomorrow, they close the four-game series with Hickory (and the 8-game home stand). The wife and I are taking a broom to the game.

Good luck with the broom. I fell off my last one and decided to just stick with the jeep as my personal choice of transportation...oh, what was that..they want to sweep the Crawdads, not ride the broom. OH, OK, now I get it!! I thought take the broom was like taking the subway... NEVERMIND...
