The panel is ready with their questions...
First question...
... why Emma Peel?... Sure, she's a babe and a spy and all that stuff... but being a toddler mom has gotta be more adventurous than being Emma Peel... right?.. or is it really just because you want to carry a gun and karate chop people?... I can see you wanting to do that...
Eric, I am shocked. You out of all people (dot dot dot). Babe, spy, gun? Who would not want to be Emma Peel? That is a better question.
How did you get fixated on Emma Peel and the Avengers -- you're way too young to have been able to watch this show! (You're already Emma Peel in my book!)
I am old enough, but thank you and your check is in the mail.
Why Emma Peel? Well, you actually do look like her.... so scratch that.... Why did you decide to use her as a blog avatar?
*thud* Your check is in the mail as well.
Why Emma Peal? You seem a bit young to have her on your radar screen. I enjoy your posts, but just wondered how you came to that.
actually, the day I came up with "If I Were Emma Peel" thing. I was having a "typical day at the house". Here is the first Emma post. I think I was sitting amoungst diapers, and baskets of clean laundry and suddenly I realized I would not be an international woman of intrigue and mystery.
What is your favorite quote, one you live (or try to live) by?
The quote is from Dear Husband "Babe, will it matter in 10 years?"
Will you change the name of your blog when you don't have a toddler anymore?
yes, I really should. I started the blog on a whim, and made up the name, fast. (Obviously)
When your children are older are you going to change your blog name to ArmyWifeToddlerTeen?
Perhaps, bald Momma
Which birthday was your favorite?
probably every birthday I am lucky enough to have, although the added gravity with every year has proved to be a challenge.
There are days I wish I had my first child earlier than 27, but for the most part I feel like they came at just the right time in my life. Do you have any "secret" pangs - wish that you had started earlier? or waited longer?
no, we were not ready. I am currently 35 and have a 2 1/2 year old, and a 4 1/2 year old. Quite frankly, they keep me young.
What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
home cranked vanilla
Top or bottom?
I must have misunderstood this line of questioning? Anyone else care to field this one?
How do you find the time to blog with Dash and Pink Ninja running around? You post something every day. My last child left home over a year ago and I can barely find the time to blog biweekly. How, oh how, do you do it?
There are 2 things I do everyday write, and bathe. Those 2 things are keeping me sane.
Bra size.
*thud*
You've got a great variety of music that you like... who were some of your early favorites?
My early favorites? My Sister is 7 years older (ha I did it again) so I think she exposed me to lots of 70's music. ELO, Wings, Bread. My first alnbum was bought when I was 8, and was Cheap Trick Live at Budakon.
What is your fascination with pictures of my wife? Everytime I see a comment or question from you, you ask for more pictures of her!
I keep hearing, you married up, we want proof.
How and when did you discover Emma Peel and The Avengers?
People forget television used to be about 4 channels, if you were lucky.
Which bloggers do you admire the most?
Great Question. So hard to pick one or two though. First, of all the work that Patti Bader, and her Soldiers Angels have done is simply short of miraculous. Of course the serious bloggers, the alternative news sources, like Blackfive, Maulkin,LGF, and the milbloggers do us all a great service. They deliver news, that is ignored.
I also love the diarists, that remind us all what it is REALLY like to live on this planet. So many people have a skewed veiw of life and how things really are after spending a decade or more in front of the TV. I like hearing that life in Ohio is similar to life in Texas, baby poop is baby poop. The humor the diarists have shown have made many of my days brighter.
Favorite Childhood Memory?
Playing with my Grandma Tessie
Who was your first crush?
My first big crush was my Dear Husband when I was 15.
Describe a perfect day (in your eyes) at Casa de Dust.
babies happy
Husband happy
Healthy
bills paid
food to prepare
clothes to wash
Momma happy
What is the best thing you have gained from blogging? (We're not talking money - experiences? insights? Friends?)
gee, there is money to be had from blogging? Damn.
I have been able to meet fantastic people, in fact I am still updating my blogroll of people I have met. The people, are always the best part. The blog has also given me a creative and free hobby as a sort of emotional outlet.
Would you approve of your children, at the appropriate age, having a weblog?
I am sure they already have one.
What is your shoe size?
7 1/2 narrow
Is it true that the Dead Milkmen wrote "Punk Rock Girl" just for you?
yes
When did you know you were in love with your husband?
I had a terrible crush on him from the time I was 15-18, this went ignored by him until 1989, he called me from Fort Bliss Texas. About 3 months later he drove 27 hours to see me. First date, yep I knew that was it, and he did too.
What is your favorite kind of pie?
Peach or rhubarb
Paper or plastic?
A canvas tote, if I remember the damn thing.
When did you decide to be Emma Peel?
Wanted to be Emma after episode 1.
You have two children relatively close in age. Have you ever thought of taking one piece of candy, throwing between them and seeing which one would win? If so, who won, if not who do you think would win?
I think Pink Ninja would win, because she screams louder, and is a bit aggressive. Dash, would simply hand it over to her, and then ask me for another piece.
What is your single most annoying habit?
Interrupting others, and general smartassery.
Why are there no pets amoung "the collective"
Our 14 year old cat died while DH was in Iraq, and frankly I have my hands full with the toddlers. I can barely get them to listen, I am unsure what I would do with a mammel with a smaller brain.
Once Dash has secured his fortune as the founder of Dashing Technologies, supporting you in the style you would like to become accustomed to, and Pink Ninja has beaten Chuck Norris in the Martial Arts Ultimate Fight Club contest and assumed world domination, what WILL you and DH do with all your time?
ride the bike across the planet, hike, learn to draw something other than stick figures, and spend all of "the collectives" cash.
If you were Emma Peel, which leading man would you "ride off into the sunset" with?
DH, of course.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Self realized.
Seriously, how
DH, is still confused about blog names and real names, his frustration mounts when I try and tell him stories. I think the scars were minimal, he has let me continue blogging.
What is your favorite cartoon and why?
Right now it is Chip and Dale, because it reminds me of the kids. They even try to talk like them.
What is the single most endearing thing about you?
I really like taking care of people.

Parenting.
OK - we all know you're a "jammie" girl. Tell us about your favorite "pair". Why are these so special?

Has anything surprised you when you became a blogger? And if so, what?
that anyone bothered to read me.
However did you get out of jail in DC after the attempt to rescue Blackfive and company?
after the psych eval, which I guess I failed according to Andi. I was bailed out by Dawg Chapman and his Wife Beth, I then managed beat Dawg at 10 consecutive games of pool. Andi arm wrestled Beth, and her "bail money" was returned.
Did you ever see an adult eat a booger?
Afraid so.
If you could give your children just one thing, something material (not love, wisdom, strength, etc . . .), what would you give them so that they always had something of yours?
I remember my Father discovering his baby books as a grown man, and he was thrilled to read through them. I kept pregnancy diaires, baby books, and now the blog. What a great gift those will make. To know someone loved you enough to record it.
Coffee or soda in the morning?
Coffee, lots of coffee.
It's known throughout the intraweb thing that you are "the Martha Stewart of the Blogosphere," a title you do not really appreciate. That has nothing to do with her being your evil cousin, does it? I think I read that somewhere...
Hey, T1G, you have been to my home, does it really look like "evil" Martha,
if so I apologize, and will pick up the skeletons off of the floor the next
time.
Your daily must reads - list 5
Ain't gonna do it, yawl know who ya are.
Can you please provide a mathmatical formula as to the exact ratio of free-time and work time it takes to be an active blogger?
it takes a lot of time to be an unsuccessful blogger.
What do your family, friends, other military families in your husband's unit think about you blogging? Do they give you a hard time, or feed you stories?
I recently just told SOME of my family. They all admit to enjoying it. Only a handful of our military friends know about it. Those that are far away, use it as a way to catch up on things round here. Some others have been SOOO bored by it, they have stopped reading.
How many more children are you going to have?
Thanks to a lovely urologist, none.
How do you comfort your children when they're sad/hurt/tired?
hugging, reading, singing and if all else fails tickles.
So just where DID you learn to swear like you do? ;-)
I have no idea, I grew up in a swear free zone...
What's your favorite part about being a mother of toddlers? What's your least favorite part? And what do you hope for most for your kids?
My favorite part is watching them learn. My least favorite part, is
watching them learn. I hope they are happy above all else.
Got any weird bathroom behaviour that you'd like to tell us about?
uhhh? I flush with my foot in public bathrooms.
Please?
OK.
How does your husband comfort you when you're sad/hurt/tired?
honestly I am a pretty tough cookie, I know I know, I look like a wuss, but really. I do not require much "care" that way. Ussually in a situation like that, I am better caring for others.
You have had T1G to your home several times, doesn't that qualify you for a medal?
yes, and a nice bottle of wine.
Can you please give me the definition of "hoot" as in "she is a hoot" . . . *wink, wink*?
I am unsure what a hoot is, however, everytime I go to a blog meet. I will later get a write up that includes this...
"AWTM, was a hoot"...
I have no idea what "a hoot" is.
Exactly how will you die if you only get these 5 or so questions per your blog "I only get 5 or so questions, I will die of embarassment"?
Really, it would be embarassing to sign up to be interviwed to get no
questions.
How is John Steed lately?
dapper
What is your favorite place to eat in Little Rock?
Restaurante Capeo, they serve Northern Italian cuisine, offer a course menu. The atmosphere cannot be beaten and the food is to die for.
What the hell is a Sooner?
Someone Nebraska used to beat at football. Damn.
What are the strengths of weblogs as compared to regular MSM media?
I think blogs have a growing popularity, but I do think the bloggers need to learn to get this stories "out" of the blogosphere. I think I read 6% of the World reads blogs. (can someone verify that?) If that means e-mailing a great story to people, do it. When you read something that you want others to know, or to think about, e-mail it to them.
What are you most afraid of?
I ain't even gonna type it...
Do you see yourself blogging through the next Presidential election?
I am unsure.
What are you most grateful for?
Family, Friends, and Health.
If you could rid one thing from the world, what would it be.
Sloth

hmmm....pudding? Going through a mental list of foods...Nope, no pudding.
Any thoughts for when Pink Ninja and Dash are old enough to read your blog?
Dash can read now, so he does on occassion, Pink Ninja loves to see her photo up.
What do you imagine your life will be like in 20 years?
I try to keep present as often as I can, I am not a big 20 year planner. Life is what happens, when you are making plans you know.
Did I ask too many questions?
no, but that top or bottem thing was awkward.
Do you think Smash thinks too much about Smash, or is that something Matt got started because he's jealous?
Holy Smokes, that is a loaded question. I feel like I cannot say anything, after all didn't Smash agree to pay for all of our college? Oh, and Matt is totally jealous.
Who stole my stainless steel socket wrench?
Janice.
Do you like sex more now or when you where in your 20s?
Ha, I knew someone would try and sneak a dirty question in here. *cough* pervert *cough*
Have you ever thought of becoming a re-enactor? If so what period.
The 60's, and Emma of course.
Star Wars or Star Trek?
To fall asleep to, or to fantasize to?
Thanks to ArmyWifeToddlerMom for agreeing to the interview and for answering the questions. Okay, for answering most of the questions. It WAS a blast. Thanks!
Next week, we'll have interviews with Sean Gleeson (The Gleeson Bloglomerate) and with Dragonlady (Dragon's Den).
'Thank You Basil.....
