No, it wasn't one of those "good" long weekends. Not in the sense of having an extra day off or anything like that.
I'm thinking it was something I ate Thursday night. Or maybe Thursday lunch. Either way, not long after getting home from the ballgame, the difficulties began. No awful details here, but I was unable to go to work Friday. That puts me behind a whole day, as we have some major work underway. Friday evening, was much better, but still touch-and-go.
Saturday, not eating kept things under control. And I went to the car show. And directed traffic there. Somebody had to; it may as well have been me. The wife was hoping to go anyway, because there was a band there she wanted to see. She was happy and I was just glad to get out.
Sunday, my Big Sister (who's 5'4"), her son, Master Thespian, and I went to Savannah to watch the Catfish play. Although they played winning baseball, so did the Sand Gnats. Catfish lost, 1-0. That was their second consecutive 1-run loss, having lost the previous night, 6-5.
Today, they have a double-header in Savannah. I have work.
I'd rather be in Savannah.
even though i have the day off, i'd rather be in Savannah, too. anywhere but here...
ReplyDeleteBig sis (who's 5'4") recently told me that she'd root for both teams. good for her. baseball doesn't last long enough to pick sides, if you like both teams. and both teams have to be there to play baseball...
Yay baseball!
/baseball rant.
but at least you're feeling better, right?
ReplyDeletejody:
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, much better. Thanks.
Work sucks!
ReplyDelete(This from the happily unemployed slacker.)
Thatisall.
That's it. I'm buying a lottery ticket tonight!
ReplyDeleteI had such a good time with basil and the thespian at the ball game. I am even learning some things about baseball. Will wonders never cease?
ReplyDeleteSo, now that you know so much, give a scenario where a team, in it's half of an inning, is officially scored with six base hits but does not score a run.
ReplyDeleteI'll wait.
I forgot...
ReplyDeleteAnyone? Anyone? There has to be a baseball fan that knows an answer to this scenario.
ReplyDeleteNo, it's never been done. Yes, it's possible. Yes, all the components of making it happen have occurred, just never in the same inning in the right order.
