Catfish Unable To Sweep Double Bill

After edging the Greenville Drive (Red Sox) with 3 home runs in the 1st game of a doubleheader, the Columbus Catfish bats fell mostly silent in the 2nd game as they fell to Greenvile, 10-2.

The Catfish scored first in the 2nd inning when 1B David Sutherland hit a 2-out solo home run. However, unlike the 1st game, it was the only longball for the Catfish in the second game.

Greenville scored 3 in the 4th on a double, a single, a wild pitch, and a sacrifice fly. They scored 2 more in the 5th on 2 walks, 2 singles, and a sacrifice fly. They blew the game open with 5 more in the 6th on 2 walks and 6 singles, taking a 10-1 lead

The Catfish managed one more run in the bottom of the 7th, when David Sutherland walked, C Conor McGeehan singled, DH Chris Jensen moved them over on a grounder, and LF Adam Godwin knocked in Sutherland on a grounder to third. But that's all the Catfish could manage.

P Mario Alvarez, who was knocked out of the game in the 5th inning, took the loss, his 9th.
