Wal-Mart

The wife likes Wal-Mart. And, I have to admit, I find that I like it. Most of the time.

Now, the thing that I don't like about Wal-Mart ... okay, there's more than one thing ... is the fact that they sell cheap foreign crap.

Sure, prices at Wal-Mart are generally lower than other places. And that's good. And bad.

Part of the reason their prices are so low is, I suspect, that they make lots of money on the cheap foreign crap. Mostly cheap Chinese crap. From China. You know. The ChiComs. The Commies. Not Taiwan. Or Free China. But Red China.

I'm not a big fan of communist countries. Cuba. North Korea. Red China.

And Wal-Mart sells a bunch of cheap crap from China.

But, apart from that, it's has lots of stuff.

They sell groceries. And some of the stuff they have is hard to find at Winn-Dixie or Publix or such. So, we buy lots of groceries at Wal-Mart. Although I'd prefer to buy from Publix or Winn-Dixie. But Wal-Mart usually has what I want. So I buy from there.

But one thing that really irritates me about Wal-Mart is the putting up of stock.

Have you ever noticed that they put stock up all the time all day long? Sure, they need to restock the shelves. If it's not on the shelves, they can't sell it. And it pisses off the customers when they can't find what they want.

But I've been to Wal-Mart late at night. Or early in the morning. Whichever.

And they seem to have empty shelves overnight. At least when I've been to Wal-Mart during the "off hours" the shelves were empty. Nobody putting stuff up.

So, why do they wait to put up stock during the day? Why not overnight?

Is it that they are feeling that folks have to come to Wal-Mart so they don't really care if they are making it rough on customers?

Maybe other customers don't really care. After all, they push their carts down the middle of the aisle, leving them there blocking everyone else. So, if they don't care if they block the aisles of others, they probably don't care if they're incovenienced by Wal-Mart's mid-day stocking.

Maybe it's just bad timing on my part. Or maybe Wal-Mart is just plain evil.

  1. I've noticed that too, and I've also noticed that if you want someone behind a specific counter (like when I need a watch battery) there is no one is sight, and nobody seems to know how to get in contact with that person.

  3. and for goodness sake don't ever go into wal-mart looking for something and it's not on the shelf, and then you ask somebody " do you have anymore of "this" because no matter what it is they are goin tell you that if it's not on the shelf then they don't have anymore.

  7. I notice all my favorite stuff running out durring the day! But Wal Mart has something other businesses will neve have

The ability to piss as many customers off and still have them come back anyway. We get abused. But we will be back the next day.

  8. I was at our neighborhood WM late last night and the guy ahead of me had a crossbow with a $9 sticker on it and was planning to walk out the door with it until the cashier said those are $287! They said you would not believe what people try to pull! Around Xmas, police were caled to arrest someone who had stolen a computer--a computer?? How in the world is that done?
And our WM restocks from around 9 PM until 6 AM everyday. It is always busy, busy, busy! So they must be selling a lot of crap!
Publix is a nice store but their prices are high and the newest one has a phone number one digit off from mine and we get wrong numbers ALL the time! I stopped being nice about it 'cause I figured they'd try harder to dial correctly if I was alittle less friendly!
