We're approaching the deadline for the Columbus Catfish taking letters for naming a fan for a special night on August 25th.Despite the fact that the rules say you must submit an entry from the forms at the ballpark, we're encouraging people to email the Catfish and tell them to pick me anyway. Use 100 words or less. Or more. I don't care. They do, but I don't. So knock yourself out.
Oh, yeah, some don't like my campaign for having them declare "Basil Night" ... so y'all can vote too. Just email the Catfish and tell them why to NOT have a night named after me.
Either way, if you haven't sent them your opinion ... do it now.
And, either way, you'll get entered into a drawing I'm having for those that send in letters. For or against. If you take the time to sound off, the least I can do is go along, right?
Enter and you're put in for a drawing of prizes I'm giving away:
- A DVD from Amazon.com. Winner's choice. Be reasonable, okay?
- A Catfish T-shirt. Size: large.
- An autographed Catfish logo baseball. I'm asking the players to all sign. I expect most will.
Everybody that submits an entry for me goes into a drawing. First name drawn gets first choice. Second name drawn gets second choice. And so on. You do not have to be here. I'll mail it to you.
And, everyone who submits an entry on my behalf ... and shows up for the game ... will get in free, plus get a hot dog and a Pepsi-related soft drink. Well, not free. But I'm buying. So it'll be free to those who support me. My way of saying thanks.
Those that vote against me and show up ... we'll throw ice at you or something. Or give you a wedgie. I'm not sure. We'll come up with something.
