Now for the first question...

What's the best job you ever had?tiffany
Easy. When I was in high school I was on the cheerleading squad. As a group we took summer jobs working for the Edenton Steamers summer league baseball team. It was the team's first year in the league and our squad needed new uniforms.

Our duties were to serve concessions, sell peanuts to the folks in the stands, and between the innings get up on the dugouts and lead the crowd in embarrassing dances (such as the "YMCA" sequence). It was fun, and for $5.15/hour and all the nachos you could eat you couldn't find better work in a tourist town.

In hindsight, I wonder how much we would have been paid if we weren't raising money for uniforms ... there's only so much harassment a person can take from horny baseball players.

What's in your purse?

tiffany
Woo. Okay ... wallet with checkbook. A Pilot Dr. Grip pen that I am keeping on lockdown. A black fine point sharpie. A blue Bic rollerball pen. My cell phone. My PalmOne Tungsten E2. My iPod. Work keys. House keys. Two tubes of lip gloss and some Chap Stick®.

DonW
Describe a perfect day.

tiffany
Waking up at noon to have a hot cup of steaming coffee, an hour of knitting, several hours of reading, and the rest spent in one-eye-open slumber in front of the television.

Sherlock
What's your favorite movie?

tiffany
Answering this presents a real problem for me. Because I'm an avid reader I tend to have delusions of how things should be scripted. When they aren't scripted according to what my inner monologue dictates I become severely perturbed ... but if I have to choose a movie, I'd have to praise the comedic genius of Coming to America.

Garfield
What was the best car you ever had?

tiffany
The one I'm driving right now ... an '05 Jeep Liberty. I really liked my Accord because it was zippy as heck, and my first car (a 1990 Cavalier) holds a lot of memories, but you can't beat driving something meant to splash in mud puddles.

squirrel
What place in the United States would you most like to vist?

tiffany
I've never been any further west than Asheville, NC, so I'm contemplating somewhere on the left coast. We've been talking about Vegas lately ... the only problem with that is that my mom wants to go with us. That would seriously put a cramp in my style.

basil
What place outside the United States would you most like to vist?

tiffany
Ireland. I want to go traipsing through the countryside and kissing every redheaded-freckled-face Gaelic-speaking person I can find on the forehead. While I'm there I wish to acquire an authentic brogue and drink a lot of beer.

England and Italy tie for second.

bachman
What's the snarkiest thing you ever said?

tiffany
I was on the phone with a client one day and was asked how a certain recruiter in the office was doing. I stated: "He just opens his mouth and garbage falls out."

You would have to know the dude for that to be funny ... he's sort of on autopilot and talks without thinking (He's constantly telling our clients "I'm happier than a pig in poop").

DonW
What's the best pet you ever had?

tiffany
I like my fat cat, Bodie, a lot because she's like Jabba the Hutt on wee widdle legs. She's on a diet, so her belly should stop dusting the floor pretty soon.

Garfield
If you weren't doing the work you do now, what would you rather be doing?

tiffany
Staying home watching Maury Povich reruns and raising hard-headed kids. The Mister isn't amenable to that idea.

squirrel
Where is your favorite vacation spot?

tiffany
Up until this past summer's disaster I would have said "Bald Head Island." I'm open to suggestions.

Sherlock
What's the best Christmas gift you ever recieved?

tiffany
A set of Mickey Mouse pajamas my grandmother bought me the year before I left for college. For her budget they were pretty expensive. I still have the top.

basil
What's the best Christmas gift you ever gave?

tiffany
I didn't know how to answer this one until a couple of days ago. I guess I was eleven or twelve at the time and one Christmas my grandmother and I were visiting New York to stay with my mom. When you're that age you really don't have any sophistication when it comes to purchasing gifts for people so I usually ended up buying something that I thought was interesting to look at.

I bought my mom, who was at the time not a devout Christian, a glass figurine of Jonah in the whale. I thought it looked cool... and it was inexpensive. There really wasn't any symbolism behind it from my vantage point. Well, my mom accidentally broke that figurine last year. I had no idea she still had it (or any recollection of the fact that I bought it), but she was very upset that she'd broken it. Apparently it had struck some chord in her. Hmm.

If you could live one day over again, what day would that be?

tiffany
That would probably be the day in middle school that I decided I should try out for volleyball ... dear LORD, that was an embarrassing year. I skipped a grade so by the time seventh grade came around and it was time to try out I was smaller and weaker than the other girls. I made the team but couldn't keep up. The coaches (these two bully buttheads that played favorites and enjoyed screaming at little girls) made me feel small and insignificant, so I stepped down to "manager."

If I ever see them alone in a dark alley ...

DonW
Who's your favorite entertainer?

tiffany
Oy. How about edu-tainer? I'm not easily amused, so if I'm going to sit still long enough for something to entertain me I'd better be learning something in the process. I love Martha Stewart. It seems she really does have a personality! I guess jail will bring that out in a person.

squirrel
If you had to live in one TV show, what show would that be?

tiffany
I have to confess that I have a mild urge to be a cast member on The Real World, but I guess that doesn't count, eh?

If I had to pick something that was slightly more fictional, I think I'd want to be on something simple and rustic like "Little House on the Prairie" or "The Waltons."

Garfield
What's your favorite cartoon?

tiffany
Family Guy.

basil
Curly, Moe, Larry, or Shemp?

tiffany
Moe. The Three Stooges actually bring back memories for me. When I was eight and living in Hollis the television I'd dragged up to New York with me from my grandmother's house could only get three or for channels in my bedroom (I had a aluminum foil antenna). One of those was an UHF channel that played shows like "The Munsters," "Star Trek," "Bewitched," "I Love Lucy" and "The Three Stooges." I would never have been introduced to those shows, otherwise. Those who know me well know I looooooooove me some "Star Trek."

Thanks, Tiffany, for participating and making this another great interview.

Next weekend, we'll have Bloodspite from Techography and Greta from Hooah Wife.
