I'm not sure what brought it all up. Maybe somebody needs a friend, I don't know. Maybe it was inspired by Harvey's Bad Example Family Reunion. But whatever the reason, I like the idea.
Lance at Red State Rant wants to have a BlogFest for bloggers in the southeast. Now this idea is still in the early stages. It hasn't even been named. And we don't know where it will be, although the first thought is Atlanta. Lance being in Atlanta couldn't be part of that, could it?
Still, we're looking to have a get-together this summer. And it sounds like fun. Might be interesting. So far, Dizzy Girl (who also runs the Georgia Bloggers Webring) is in, as is Beth of MY Vast Right Wing Conspiracy. Add Lance and me to the mix, and we got the nucleus of a good time.
I think it wll be a good time. I hope it will be a good time. I've never met any of these people. I've had some off-line (away from the blog) e-mails with Beth and Lance, so I'm not totally unfamiliar with them. But I've never met another blogger in person. Unless I can talk this girl who's been thinking about starting one to actually start one.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to this thing. And so is the wife. Which sort of surprises me, since she doesn't read the blog. She just wants to party.

ReplyDeleteI don't blame you one little bit. Not sure how far you are from, say Rocky Mount, which is nearly east coast of NC. But if you were leaving from near there, you'd have to drive 27 minutes longer than Beth and the folks in Mobile, AL have to drive to get to the middle of Atlanta. And that extra 27 minutes is just too much. I mean, if it was 27 minutes closer, a girl could drive it. But it's just too far a piece to drive.
